HOW TO SETUP ADSL internet Of Nepal Telecom

In Nepal, Nepal Telecom provide ADSL service through the PSTN line. In order to use the ADSL Internet of Nepal Telecom you nedd to first subscribe the monthly or 3 monthly package from Nepal Telecom. The second thing you need to do is buy a ADSL router. Then the router should be configured to work with your PSTN after you connect Router to the LAND Phone wire.
                       
                         The process of configuration of ADSL router is as follow.


1. Find the IP adress of your Router on the backside of your router.(eg: 192.168.1.1 in most cases.)
     Turn on your router and connect it to your mobile or computer and open a web browser.Now enter the         IP adress in the adress bar.

2.Find the default login Username and Password of your router either on manual or at the backside of your         router. A login form appears after you enter ip adress. Login with the default username and password.

3. Then click on Quick Start or Setup wizard (may vary with router company).

4. Then it prompts a new window or dialogue box. There Choose your time zone. (Kathmandu incase of             Nepal).

5. Now it ask to choose the ISPconnection type. Choose PPPoE/PPPoA and click next.

6. Now the most important part comes. It ask for Username and password.
     In the Username field type your Nepal Telecom Land Line Phone number from which you are going to use adsl service just by raplacing the zero '0' at first by 'adsl'.
The password is also same as the username.
There is another field to fill with VPI and VCI. In VPI type 8 and type 81 in VCI.
eg:
Username: adslxxxxxxxx  where xxxxxxxx is your Nepal telecom Land Line phone number without the digit zero at first.
Password: same as username. 
VPI: 8
VCI: 81

Then click on Next.

7.Then there appears the setting option for your Wi-fi. Fill up with your desire setting and click on Next.

8.Finally the message of completion of Set-up appears. Exit the wizard.

  1. This is very helpful to those trying to set up an ASDL connection and broken down well. I didn't know that the IP address is on the back of your router...I'm not exactly tech savvy as you can tell.
